Chapters Transcript Video Debate: Focal Therapy for Prostate Cancer Back to Symposium Arvin George, MD, participates in Indian American Urological Association (IAUA)’s debate, defending the stance of focal therapy at the AUA 2024. Thanks for joining us for the great focal therapy debate at the Indian American Neurological Association subsection meeting. In case you missed it. We employ an organ sparing strategy for multiple other neurological malignancies including kidney and bladder cancer. Our improvements in imaging including prostate MRI and ps ma pet have facilitated fusion biopsy that has allowed us to localize clinically significant prostate cancers. The functional outcomes are uncontested compared to radical therapy. But the short and intermediate term oncologic outcomes are promising in carefully selected individuals. In my opinion, phototherapy is here to stay. And I believe that as our knowledge and experience grow, we will be able to increasingly offer this minimally invasive treatment strategy to patients and it will be become part of the standard of care.
