Lloyd Scott Miller, MD, PhD

Lloyd Scott Miller, MD, PhD

Dr. Lloyd Scott Miller is an associate professor of dermatology and orthopaedic surgery at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He practices both general dermatology and specialized wound care.

Dr. Miller’s research interests involve the study of skin infections, susceptibility to infections and healing responses, with particular emphasis on host response against the common bacterial skin pathogen Staphylococcus aureus and MRSA.

Dr. Miller earned his B.A. in biology at Johns Hopkins University, and received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. He then completed a residency and post-doctoral research fellowship in dermatology at the University of California Los Angeles School of Medicine.

In 2005, he joined of the UCLA Division of Dermatology as an assistant professor, and in 2008 he was a co-appointed in the UCLA Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He joined the faculty at the Johns Hopkins Department of Dermatology as a tenured associate professor in 2012.

Dr. Miller has received several NIH grants, private foundation and industry funding awards for his research. He has published extensively in the field, and is certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
